North Doming Baca Park Update
March 5, 2008 - Councilor Winter is pleased to tell you that the Governor has signed SB471 and approved the following:"Six hundred thirty-five thousand dollars ($635,000) to plan, design, construct and equip a community center in North Doming Baca Park in Albuquerque in Bernalillo County."
Please thank our representatives for their continued support of this project that we have so long awaited.
Membership Drive
The new by-laws and maps have been submitted to Delaina Carmona at the City of Albuquerque's Office of Neighborhood Coordination, making the new extended boundaries for Nor Este Neighborhood Association official. In addition to our original boundaries, we will also now include homes within the area encompassed by Barstow on the West, Alameda on the South, Ventura on the East and Florence on the North. We will be contacting homes in this area shortly to welcome them to Nor Este Neighborhood Association and invite them to become a paid member.
If you are a member and have not yet paid your dues, it is not too late. Please remember that, while membership dues are voluntary, your contribution goes a long way in helping our association effectively represent our neighborhoods. If you have not sent in your check, please do so.
If you want to become a member, use this form.
Dues are only $25 annually and serve a great cause. This year, your Board Members have worked hard to visit Development and Review Board meetings, City Council Meetings, and a plethora of other groups when new developments or issues such as the unsightly cell towers arose which affected our community.
Your contribution also makes it possible for us to continue to mail out newsletters keeping you informed about events taking place within our boundaries.
Thank you for your support and contribution. It makes a difference. We still have room on the Board for anyone who wants to help us make a greater difference in the quality of life in our community.
Sincerely,
Lisa Abeyta
