The board listserve states here:
http://noreste.org/mailman/listinfo/board_noreste.org “This mailing list
serves the board of the Nor Este Neighborhood Association. It includes the
executive board and the committee members.” Non-board members are not
eligible to subscribe to the this list.

To reiterate – you are not allow to post to the board list, your mails will
be rejected. The board list is for the elected members only. The members
list is open and all people on the board are subscribers to the members list
as well. I saw that you subscribed tonight, you are welcome to post to the
member’s list. It is not moderated so be prepared to get unfiltered
responses from your neighbors and peers.

Your idea about a raised, pexi-glass café for Cops, Fireman, Sheriff,
Administration, etc. is unique. I suggest that you contact the author of
this article at the city: http://www.cabq.gov/aes/s2urban.html and suggest
your idea.

Be advised, it has taken nearly 6 years to get the dog park and the new
skate park construction funded by the city and state and underway. There
are millions left to be funded to complete the current planned work. You
may want to consider throwing your energy being some of the current efforts
rather than new and elaborate (expensive???) ideas. At the end of the day,
you may have more to show for your efforts.

Regards,

P.

Dear Paul,

The listserv states all members may post. I have a great idea based on some
threads that I read

on the postings regarding increased police visibility and reduced crime (car
thefts, car break in-s which

cause people to loose sleep at night and insurance rates to increase).

I read on the post that building a doughnut shop nearby Corono 20 Fire
Station would work. Well, I drove

by the area and directly across the street the lots are filled up! So,
welcome to 21st Century modern

design which makes use of max space available by building off the ground
directly above City Street a small

pexi-glass café for Cops, Fireman, Sheriff, Administration, etc... So, that
when a person drives passed

directly under Wyoming to get to Nor Este passed the Fire Station, the cops
etc.. will be relaxing, hanging

out doing their police reports with an aerial view (built 30 feet up) of
surroundings with solar lights for

max use without electrical wiring.

To build: Place rods adjacent to Fire Station fixed into concrete. This is
the anchor. Place steal beams

connecting to anchor fixed on median (looks like a glass, encased bridge).
Install flooring. Encase with

plexi glass. Put Solar panels on top of plexi to get direct sunlight. (the
light may be dimmed for night), to

allow Firemen etc... to sleep, relax and star out into the twinkling lights.
It is like William Woodsworth, the poet who sat on top of a hill overlooking
the city lights, in giving the community's patrol a place to go

hang out that is enjoyable and next to the Fire Station. Police, Fire man
hang out would have intercom

to connect to main Corona Fire Station. This cost might be negotiated
instead of building an add on

to the park. We could enlist the assistance of area skilled workers and
designers because any crook

etc... would have to drive passed the overlook where "Police/Fire Club
House," in neon lights (similar to the decorative neon lights on Central
next to Nob Hill, or something would be a sign

outside. The walkway/café would have an expresso and late machine, so on
duty and off duty officers

would make their own latte, expresso and have a place to write reports.
This structure would serve

to ward off potential threats to the area in car theft by making the police
very visible. If successful,

then perhaps open to public for public consumption. Private vendor to make
lattes, etc...

Wooden or concrete stairwell that is easy to walk up.

There is an Architect living in Nor Este and had home featured in Real
Estate guide. This new concept would

become instantly popular due to more multi-million dollar homes in area
having their property values increased, as well as all other homes. This
new design concept offers better police visibility that would

strengthen ties to community and work to keep out thieves, crime, etc....

It would be an indication as a place not to go if a crook. The advantages
of having an aerial view

is that the police could shine light on any troubled area, have binoculars
to do periodic checks from aerial

view up above surrounding neighborhood, which would assist to radio patrol
on duty in patrol car as where

thief, criminal etc.. was running to or was at in the area. This would be a
great way for the police to keep

an eye on things in the area and love to go hang out in! Spectacular view of
mountains!!!

This design was inspired by European designs of café's built over city water
which could be built over instead

of city water, city street. For an example of bridge concept (just add
plexi- glass surrounding),

at the Arroyo Park behind Oakland street there is a bridge that allows
people to get from one side of arroyo

to another. The railing is turquoise. Now, imagine that bridge built 30
feet up next to Fire Station connecting

side of Fire Station with median which would make the café/bridge built
directly over city street. Just put

plexi glass around bridge and install solar panel on top!!!

Dear Board,

I believe in error that I was not allowed to post about potholes?

How about? I'm creating a book of pictures on potholes in our area to give
to City Council Member Winter.

Potholes are a nuisance that cause accidents. Potholes need to be repaired.
