Councilor Winter met today with Ed Adams, CAO and John Castillo regarding the widening of Wyoming Boulevard and has been informed as follows:

The Wyoming Boulevard Improvement Project is entering the final design phase.  The current project estimate is $6 million.  While the design of the project is funded, we continue to identify funds for construction.  We have aggressively pursued money from the State as well for this project and have been mildly successfully receiving two small grants.  If the entire project from Burlison to PDN cannot be funded we will look for opportunities to phase the project.  Until sufficient funding is identified to construct a logical segment of the project we can not determine a set date for construction.  

It is estimated that the final design will be final in April after which it will be let out for bid and the project (from Harper to Academy) will begin shortly after the bid is awarded.  At this time there are funds available to complete this phase.

Councilor Winter will work with DMD to identify funds to complete the widening of Wyoming to Paseo del Norte phase.  If you have any questions, please call him at 489-0327 or stop by the Northeast Substation on Saturday (December 6) from 10:00 a.m. until noon.  The plans for the project will be available for you to see.
