[NENA] fundraising idea

Dear NENA Members,




Did you see the following email that somebody else also saw the water shooting straight up and did report it?  It is up to everybody to help keep Nor Este
clean and to report water leaks.  There is going to be an annual fall clean
up in October which I hope that you participate in.  

I had a fundraising idea for Nor Este.  The picture of me with my Dog and Grinch was taken at the Doggie
Gourmet on Montgomery next to Starbucks between Eubank and Juan Tabo.  A professional photographer
takes pictures of the owner with their dog.  Nor Este could easily either hire a professional photographer
or have a person with a polaroid camera take a picture with a pretty, designed background.

At the Doggie Gourmet there were lines and lines of people. I paid 10 dollars for one picture.  Halloween
is coming up at the end of next month.  If there is going to be an ice cream social, then having a pretty,
designed background and charging between 5 to 10 dollars (I would have to calculate costs) to have a picture with dog in pretty designed background would really be an inexpensive way to bring in some money.   I'm not sure how much the professional photographer brought in, but based on how many people- probably a couple of thousand.  A non-professional person designing a pretty, designed background (willing to do the work) with a supplied camera and small designing set charge might just be a way for Nor Este to improve public relations, bring in revenue for Nor Este, and encourage more people to join Nor Este.

A Halloween set at the Dog Park would be a fun way to meet potential new members to join Nor Este.  The City owns the Dog Park, but next to Dog Park there is a nice place to have a designed background for pictures with owner and their dog.  Please bring this up to other Board Members.  I would need help with the fundraising project. I would need at least one other person willing to dress up in a costume to sit next to owner and their dog and/or to take picture.  This is really lots of fun, so I bet I could get a few people
involved to help out.  Please bring the following idea up to the Board in proposing that I handle the dog
party.
