Dear NENA members,

I wrote the following email to Phil Ellenbecker, though I'm not sure how he got the email I sent to Members
as his email was not posted.

Dear Phil,

You need to remove yourself from the list just click on Nor Este Members to remove your own name. Otherwise, you will keep getting these emails. I did lots of legislative research in college and working in Santa Fe. Interesting article below. I was able to ban the Girls Gone Wild Tour Bus last year in Albuquerque.
With their fly by night business tactics that exploit women. I studied Women's Studies in college, so though
never being the victim myself of slave trade of exploited women- via sleazy film producers- I was able to get
the state liquor control to fine Cowboys a huge fine for allowing a business on their parking lot (extension of
nightclub) to film women. What the below of traveling salesmen in the slave trade have in common is that
the sleazy Tour bus didn't bother to get a city permit to conduct business and could have been cited and stopped from conducting business. If you still want to remove your name, then the by-laws of our Neighborhood Association state you need to remove it yourself as you are the only one that can!!

RE: Malinda's Traveling Sales Crew Protection Act - SB-80

Dear Representative Moulton,

I believe that you are aware of who I am and my involvement with the SB-80 legislation.

I'm sure you have also read the attached front page story that was printed in The New York Times on February 21, 2007.

Young people in our state continue to be recruited into these slave-like sales crews. Crews continue to come into Wisconsin from many other states and abuse their workers here, in your jurisdiction. It is imperative that there be a hearing on the need to protection of door-to-door sales people in Wisconsin.

The same crews that abuse and exploit our kids are also responsible for some of the most violent crimes here in Wisconsin and across the country. Currently our organization has recorded a total of eleven deaths in our state directly related to the 'traveling door-to-door sales' industry.

The devastation and suffering that this industry is responsible for over the last three decades is beyond your wildest imagination. Our research has also uncovered over 250 violent felony cases all directly related to the 'traveling door-to-door sales' industry. These violent crimes include vehicular homicide, sexual assault, rape, and murder.

On July 1, 2005 a Menomonie Wisconsin woman was brutally beaten and raped by a traveling magazine sales agent. A recent district court decision has pierced the corporate veil in a civil lawsuit against the magazine sales companies, the magazine clearinghouse, and their owners.

I am in contact with a family here in Wisconsin that has lost there 18 year old son to a magazine sales crew. They have not heard from him for over a year. They do not know if he is alive or dead.

Currently our organization is researching three unsolved murders, three unsolved rapes and one unsolved attempted rape. All of these are directly connected to the 'traveling door-to-door sales' industry.

Over the past eight years since my beautiful daughter Malinda was killed in the van accident near Janesville, Wisconsin along with six other kids, I have done everything I can to help change the terrible conditions that continue to plague this most immoral and violent industry.

I am asking you now to please find it in your heart to schedule a public hearing for the SB-80 legislation. Our organizations would be more than willing to work with the Southwestern Company in finding a reasonable solution to the differences that we have had in the past.

Sincerely,

Phil Ellenbecker

    Dear NENA Members,

Well, I just received an email from Lisa Abeyta informing me of her decision to resign from the BOARD of NENA.
This is because she stated in her email of other responsibilities. I attended a General Meeting of NENA where
the people at the meeting decided and voted to have a dog party costume and ice cream social at the new dog park. Lisa was unsuccessful at hearing back from Mayor Chavez. I offered up some suggestions stating
the obvious that this was Brad Winter's District, so to expect Mayor Chavez not to attend. As the normal
checks and balances critical to good government are necessary, but sometimes horrible for Neighborhood Associations. Lisa invited me to host the dog party ice cream social and told me she would bring the idea
back up to the Board of NENA. The Board turned my proposal down and voted not to have me host the dog park ice cream social. The Dog Party ice cream social with dog costume contest needs to be held despite
the Board of NENA discriminating against me. Under Title 7, there can be no discrimination based on gender, sex, race, ethnicity, religion, marital status or age. Several times, during the last General Meeting of September held on September 3, 08, I heard the VP of NENA make comments that he and all the other Board members work
during the day. Well, I'm apart of this community and so is everybody else that works or does not work. So,
Steven the VP should tell housewives, disabled people, retired people or people for whatever other reason economic oppression etc... are not working.... that he is on the Board of NENA elected by NENA members, but he will not choose to respond to emails, he will not allow others to speak at meetings, he will not
host a dog party costume party ice cream social nor would any other Board Member. I understand that
the Domingo Park took 6 years to get. Well, Mr. high and mightly VP, your lucky that some people do get to stay home during the day because those that do can write letters. In 2006, I wrote several letters about getting a Dog Park. I also spoke on the phone to Zanetti about the real estate markets in Nor Este and why
houses were taking more than a year to sale. The two houses finally did sale and New Mexico's real estate
market isn't as bad as other states, but speaking to any member with great ideas and simply saying "no,"
while at the same time unwilling to do the work yourself is an attitude that should result in the resignation
of all and every NENA Board member unwillingly to do the work and put in the work themselves to have a dog party ice cream social with dog costume contest.
