Dear Sir of Madam;   

The United States Census Bureau performs a census of all persons living in the United States every ten years as mandated by the U.S. Constitution. The Census Bureau will conduct the Nation’s 23rd Decennial Census as of April 1, 2010. In order to complete the census, the bureau completes an Address Canvassing Operation in which we verify the address of every housing unit in the state.  

To complete this task the Census Bureau staff requires access to all gated communities.  I ask your assistance in identifying the name, address, point of contact, phone number, and any special instructions (i.e.; check in with office, gates open 8am-5pm, etc…) for each gated community you are responsible for or affiliated with.  This information will be very important to us, so that we can begin our Address Canvassing Operation the beginning of April 2009. Please inform your members and/or residents that the Census Bureau employees will be Canvassing all areas (gated or not) to avoid any confusion or surprises.
