Brief Minutes of the 5/20/09 D4 Meeting of
                                           the Coalition of Neighborhood Associations

Meeting called to order at 7 PM. The President commented on the Multi-page Newsletter produced monthly by Alb. Meadows, funded by business adverts. Alb Meadows offer to provide copies at each Coalition meeting was unanimously accepted by the Coalition. President Amy also noted the 2 facilitated meetings have been scheduled for NAs wishing information on projects proposed for the old Phillips building near I-25 N of Alameda, and a restaurant at Plaza La Cueva. She also announced that Rep. Heimrick has scheduled a Town Hall Q & A session on 5/27 at the Veterans Town Hall for those wishing to attend.

Members expressed concern about the lack of a fence or some barrier to prevent children from running out into the street from the Play Area at Domingo Baca Park. Park Project Manager will be contacted to discus these concerns.

Councilman Brad Winter reported on Council actions, noting that the proposed budget was approved with some minor changes. It includes $ 4 million for Domingo Baca Park. He is requesting that City Councilors and State Legislators be invited to the Park ribbon cutting ceremony in recognition of the funding they provided and their support for the Park. Brad will look into corrective action for Del Rio Road which needs grading work. He noted that Diana T. is back at work and slowly recovering from her recent surgery, but understandably tires by late in the day. D4 will send a card for her speedy recovery.

Bambi F. noted that Delaina at ONC has had some heath problems recently but continues to provide her exemplary support to NAs. D4 voted to send a Get Well card and our thanks.

A brochure with more information an the Momma Bears Teddy Bear program will be provided at the next D4 meeting. Under the program, when a Teddy Bear is purchased, another one is provided free to children at area hospitals.

Joe Yardumian was recused from the scheduled discussion of the I-25 Sector Plan.

Respectfully Submitted,

Joe Yardumian
NENA Rep to D4 Coalition
